This year I am using Twitter and Paper.li more than ever to organize, aggregate, compile and present urgent #breaking #news for readers and subscribers.
The task of a news blogger is to get what’s breaking out there to readers as fast as possible. Sadly, there’s often less time to opine and blog about a topic and more time needed to read and compile breaking events.
The 2012 elections are already a case in point. Polls take wild swings overnight and who’s leading will literally change from day to day and even hour to hour. As voters head to the the voting booths in the SC Primaries, Newt Gingrich is overtaking front runner Mitt Romney due to Romney’s failure to answer questions about his income and tax rate to voters’ satisfaction. For Romney supporters, this might be the political fumble that costs him South Carolina. We’ll see.
Twitter is destined to become THE breaking news aggregator for the entire world, and this year I am leaning on Twitter news feeds to help me keep a growing list of subscribers in the know.
Here’s where you will find me in 2012. [ Note: it will NOT be on Facebook as I find the interface tediously narcissistic, their privacy settings practically irrelevant. Whatever FB wants to see / share in your account they just override your privacy settings and do it anyway. I logged on and found my privacy settings tinkered with repeatedly in 2010, 2011. I finally deactivated my account last month. FB is obsolete as far as I'm concerned. It's a surveillance portal run by the FED alphabet agencies to spy on everyday Americans and compile / datamine what they are sharing online. I trust Twitter more.]
